Double throat worm gears
The pitch diameter of a worm and the pitch of its worm wheel must be equal. The two types of worm gears have the same pitch diameter, but the difference lies in their axial and circular pitches. The latter has a higher viscosity index and can be used at a range of temperatures. Synthetic lubricants often contain anti-wear additives and EP (anti-wear).
